Road to recovery?

My pt made me do many weird things yesterday, but my ankle tolerated everything well and I seem to have regained decent range of motion. After 16 days off, she said I could try running again. Only 35-45 minutes and I had to start with 3 minutes walk, 1 minute run. That works out to about 10 minutes of running, for those of you playing along at home.

So what did I do as soon as my appointment was over? Changed into running clothes and headed out the door. Come on! It was 55 degrees and sunny outside! Running for only a minute is not very long and I was grumpy at the lady on the RunKeeper app who kept saying, "Next interval. 3 minutes SLOW." She was right, though, and I complied. Everything felt weird, slightly off, but nothing hurt. Well, not until later and I was getting stab by pains in my ankle. Then it wasn't too fun. A little icing seemed to help and it was only a little stiff this morning.

Tomorrow I will try 45 minutes of walk 2 minutes, run 1 minute... (15 minutes total of running). It's a far cry from what's on the schedule (16 miles), but it's also not laying around like a lump feeling sorry for myself. And we were all sick of that.
